GRAPPA Workshop

Synopsis:

Obesity is a major comorbidity in psoriatic disease. It increases inflammation, worsens disease severity, reduces treatment response, and raises cardiovascular risks and mortality. This GRAPPA workshop aims to equip rheumatologists and healthcare providers with evidence-based, multidisciplinary education on the link between psoriasis and obesity, along with updates on new therapeutic options.

Workshop learning objectives:

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the epidemiology, pathology, and impact of obesity on psoriasis (PsO) and psoriatic arthritis (PsA).
  2. Explain the mechanistic links between adipose tissue, inflammation, and disease activity.
  3. Assess clinical evidence for different strategies to treat obesity related to psoriatic disease.
  4. Implement patient-centered approaches for weight management in clinical care.
