Lai-Shan Tam, MD, is division Head and Chair Professor in the Division of Rheumatology within the Department of Medicine and Therapeutics at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Prof Tam currently is the Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology (APLAR) President-Elect. She was the Vice President (from 2014 to 2016), Chairperson of the APLAR International Affairs Committee (from 2012 to 2021), Center of Excellence committee and the APLAR Academy coordinator (2021-2025). She has also been a EULAR honorary member since 2019. She serves as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases and Arthritis Research and Therapy, and she is an international advisory board member of The Lancet Rheumatology. She is the first author or co-author of over 300 articles published in major rheumatology journals, with an H-index of 59. Under her leadership, the Chinese University Rheumatology Research Center has been awarded APLAR Center of Excellence since 2019.
