Dr. Lee is an emerging research fellow at the Department of Medicine, University of Melbourne, where he graduated his PhD in 2015.
His research focusses on inflammatory mediator-induced mechanisms in pain and disease in musculoskeletal conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis, with the goal to identify potential therapeutic targets as effective alternatives to the current medication. In collaboration with clinician scientists, his research also focusses on psoriatic arthritis, including clinical measurement, mechanism and biomarkers.
He has led several major collaborations with industry partners, including CSL, GSK and Janssen. These collaborations have led to fruitful outcomes, including the development of a novel therapeutic. He has received travel and project grants and has been invited to speak at several international conferences.
