Dr Lu is a professor of pediatrics and the director of the Department of Rheumatology, Immunology & Allergy at the Children’s Hospital, Zhejiang University Medical School, East Asia.

Her research focuses on pediatric rheumatic and immunologic diseases, including systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM), juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), and asthma. She has authored over 100 publications in these fields.
