Masayoshi Harigai, MD, PhD is Professor of Department of Rheumatology, International University of Health and Welfare, Chiba, East Asia and Director of Sanno Medical Center, Tokyo, East Asia. He graduated from National Defense Medical College and received Ph.D. from Keio University in 1991. He served as Professor of Department of Pharmacovigilance at Graduate School of Tokyo Medical and Dental University between 2007 and 2015. After moving to Tokyo Women’s University in 2015 as an Endowed Professor, he was installed as Professor of Division of Rheumatology, Department of Internal Medicine, Tokyo Women’s Medical University in 2019. He has moved to his current position in November, 2024. Professor Harigai’s main research interests are rheumatoid arthritis and vasculitis syndrome. He is the past principal investigator of East Asia Research Committee of the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare for Intractable Vasculitis (JPVAS), clinical trial of tocilizumab for ANCA-associated vasculitis, and 2024 and 2020 East Asia College of Rheumatology Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Rheumatoid Arthritis. He has been serving as a board member of East Asia College of Rheumatology since 2018 and convenor of the APLAR vasculitis SIG.
