Prof. Luca Iaccarino (Venice, Italy, November 21st, 1974) is Associate Professor of Rheumatology at University of Padova, Italy
Since 2004 he is a member of Italian Society of Rheumatology (SIR).
He works in a prominent 3rd referral rheumatological center devited to autoimmune systemic rheumatic diseases; he currently follow-up about 1,000 patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, inflammaotory myositis, Sjogren’s syndrome, and undifferentiated connective tissue disease-UCTD.
He is Disease Coordinator in the European Reference Network (ERN) ReCONNET for UCTD and a member of the Strategic Scientific Committee.
Prof. Luca Iaccarino’s about 170 scientific publications are highly acknowledged (H-Index, scopus: 49). They include:
-Clinical studies describing new manifestations or subgroup of autoimmune disorders, prognostic risk factors, diagnostic tests and therapeutic interventions including the use of biologic drugs in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and inflammatory myositis;
-Immunochemical studies which evaluate autoantibodies, epitopes and complementary epitopes of autoantigens.
