Currently Professor Emeritus in the College of Medicine university of Baghdad, with continued commitments to teaching Post-graduate and Under-graduate students, teaching hands-on clinical skills in the field of medicine and rheumatology. I also run a rheumatology clinic four hours a day five days of the week.
I have been delegated to be chairman of the education committee of the APLAR, and is still an associate editor of the International Journal of Rheumatology.
In the year 2018 I have been awarded the APLAR Master Award during the APLAR conference in Taiwan.
I consider myself as a generalist in rheumatology, managing all the different diseases encountered in the field of rheumatology, but in the past few years I developed a special interest in Osteoarthritis, Osteoporosis, and low back pain and was involved in research for new therapies for osteoarthritis.
I have over seventy publications in local and international journals, and presented some of my research work in the British Society of Rheumatolgy (BSR) Congress in Manchester 2015, EULAR 2016 in Rome and the Mediteranean Congeress of Rheumatology in Sarajevo (Bosnia) in 2016.
Also regular attending the India Rheumatology Annual conference, Bangladesh Rheumatology conference, Pakistan Rheumatology conference.
