Prof. Masato Okada completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, USA, followed by dual postdoctoral fellowships in Rheumatology and Allergy & Clinical Immunology at Yale University. During his tenure at Yale, he was the recipient of the Markey Physician-Scientist Award and the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Senior Rheumatology Scholar Award. In 1997, he relocated to Europe to join the American Hospital of Paris, France, where he practiced until 2006, when he returned to Japan to establish and lead the Immuno-Rheumatology Center at St. Luke’s International Hospital in Tokyo.
His primary research interests focus on the clinical aspects of systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriatic arthritis, and other systemic autoimmune diseases. He currently holds an academic appointment as Visiting Professor at Aichi Medical University.
