Mitch Hurlbert is an Advanced Trainee in Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology at St Vincents Hospital Sydney. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Sydney and holds a Bachelor of Science Honours in evolutionary biology from Queens University, Canada. His clinical and research interests lie at the intersection of clinical pharmacology, rheumatology and pharmacogenomics with a focus on targeted therapies and quality use of medicine. His current research examines national and institutional prescribing patterns of Rituximab exploring the impact of biosimilars and evolving reimbursement policies on utilisation and health system costs. Mitch is a Conjoint Associate Lecturer at UNSW Sydney where he teaches medical students and Basic Physician Trainees and contributes to hospital governance through membership on the drug and therapeutics committee.
