Dr MiHyun Ahn received her PhD in Biomedical Science from Soonchunhyang University in 2007 with a specialization in molecular immunogenomics Her early research focused on cytokine gene polymorphisms and their association with inflammatory lung diseases including idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis Since 2016 she has been conducting research at Ajou University Hospital in the Division of Rheumatology Her work centers on the immunopathogenesis of adultonset Stills disease AOSD with a particular emphasis on immune responses and intracellular signaling pathways that drive disease activity Her research interests include cytokinemediated inflammation inflammasome activation and molecular mechanisms underlying autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases More recently her studies have explored the role of extracellular vesicles including exosomes in immune regulation and disease progression She has authored multiple peerreviewed publications in international journals
