Prof Jisoo Lee

Dr. Lee is a Professor of Rheumatology and a Division Chief of Rheumatology at Ewha Womans University College of medicine, Mok-dong Hospital.
She has played an active role in the Korean College of Rheumatology (KCR), serving as a Director of International Cooperation, member of Board, and member of multiple committees. She has also served as Director of Informatics Board of the Korean Association of Internal Medicine. In addition, she served as the President of Korean Society of Gout Research, and a Chair of Academic Affairs Committee of the Korean Society of SLE Research. She was the Scientific Committee Chair for the LUPUS 2023, held in Seoul, Korea.
Her research has contributed significantly to the field of rheumatology, including identification and characterization of human CD5+ pre-naïve B cells in the pathogenesis of SLE. She and her colleagues have advanced clinical rheumatology by characterizing the risk of HPV infection in Korean patients with SLE, and by applying novel imaging techniques to improve the clinical care of RA, gout, and ankylosing spondylitis. Furthermore, her group is conducting epidemiologic studies to define the disease burden among women of childbearing age with rheumatic diseases.
