Prof Fahd Adeeb

Prof. Dr. Fahd Adeeb is a Consultant Rheumatologist and Physician, and Professor and Head of Medicine at RCSI & UCD Malaysia Campus (RUMC), Penang, Malaysia. A Trinity College Dublin (Ireland) graduate, he completed specialist training (CSCST) in rheumatology and internal medicine in Ireland followed by a PhD in Behçet’s Disease from the University of Limerick (Ireland) and Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (FRCPI).

With 16 years of rheumatology specialist experience including 5.5 years as Consultant Rheumatologist at Irish teaching hospitals, Prof. Adeeb has specialist interests in Behçet’s disease, vasculitis, inflammatory arthritis, and connective tissue diseases. He is the recipient of the prestigious EULAR Travel Bursary Award (2017) and Ireland’s RCPI/Pfizer National Travelling Scholarship (2013) and Dr. Bernard Connor Innovation Bursary in Rheumatology (2011).

An Editorial Board member for BMC Rheumatology and Frontiers in Immunology, he has authored over 100 publications and serves as an MRCPI examiner since 2018. He is also a regular reviewer of many high-impact journals including Rheumatology (Oxford), PLOS One, and APLAR’s IJRD. His pioneering research on RELA gene mutations in familial Behçet’s-like disease has been published in Arthritis & Rheumatology.
