Carlos Enrique Toro Gutiérrez

Carlos Enrique Toro-Gutiérrez, MD, MSc, is an internist and rheumatologist with advanced training in autoimmune diseases.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Autoimmune Diseases from the University of Barcelona, Spain, which has provided a strong academic foundation for his clinical and research work in systemic autoimmune rheumatic conditions.

He currently serves as President of the Pan American League of Associations for Rheumatology (PANLAR), leading strategic initiatives to strengthen scientific collaboration, education, and research across the Americas. Previously, he served as President of the Colombian Rheumatology Association, promoting academic excellence and regional integration within the specialty.

Dr. Toro-Gutiérrez is also part of the Systemic Sclerosis Program at McMaster University in Canada, where he is actively involved in clinical care and research in systemic sclerosis, further consolidating his expertise in complex autoimmune diseases.
