Delegates planning to attend APLAR 2026 in Seoul, Republic of Korea are encouraged to review visa and travel requirements early to support smooth travel planning. While visa requirements vary depending on nationality and travel purpose, the following information is provided as a general guide only. Delegates are strongly advised to confirm their individual requirements with their local embassy or consulate, as Congress organisers are not visa specialists.
Check Your Visa Requirements Early
Visa requirements for entry into the Republic of Korea differ by passport type and country of residence. If you are extending your stay or travelling for purposes other than attending the Congress, the information below may not be relevant or correct. Delegates are encouraged to consult official government sources for the most up‑to‑date information.
K‑ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization)
The K‑ETA is an online travel authorisation required for visitors from visa‑exempt countries before boarding a flight to Korea. Applications are generally processed within 72 hours, and delegates are encouraged to apply early to avoid delays. Please note that K‑ETA does not guarantee visa approval but is required for boarding. For full details, exemptions and eligible nationalities, delegates should refer to the official K‑ETA Application Guide.
Temporary exemption for Australian passport holders
Australian passport holders are temporarily exempt from the K‑ETA requirement. This exemption is in effect from 1 April 2023 to 31 December 2026. Delegates are encouraged to visit the official K‑ETA website for further information and any updates.
Visa Applications and Invitation Letters
If your nationality requires a visa, you are responsible for arranging the appropriate visa prior to travel. The APLAR Congress Secretariat is not a visa agency and cannot issue visas or support visa applications, except for providing a visa invitation letter to eligible delegates.
Delegates may request an official Visa Invitation Letter during the APLAR 2026 registration process once registration and full payment have been completed. The invitation letter does not constitute visa approval, and delegates remain responsible for ensuring they obtain the correct visa to enter the Republic of Korea.
Plan Ahead
Delegates are encouraged to begin their travel planning early and allow sufficient time to complete any required applications.
