Sandra Navarra is Professor of Internal Medicine – Rheumatology at University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Southeast Asia. She is a member of the Lupus Academy Steering Committee, and a founding and executive board member of both Asia Pacific Lupus Collaboration (APLC) and Asian Lupus Nephritis Network (ALNN). Professor Navarra is Director of the Lupus Inspired Advocacy (LUISA) and People Empowerment for Arthritis and Lupus (PEARL), both administered by Rheumatology Educational Trust Foundation Inc. (RETFI). She has pioneered several physician and lay education projects including the Applied Rheumatology Made Simple (ARMS), Patient Partners© educational modules and various Lupus symposium-workshops.
Professor Navarra has published widely in the field of rheumatic diseases especially systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and is the recipient of several university, national and regional awards for her contributions to education and research, including the Philippine College of Physicians (PCP) Most Distinguished Physician award and the APLAR Master award.
