A/Prof Alberta Hoi is a leading Australian rheumatologist and clinician-researcher specialising in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and other complex autoimmune diseases, including Sjogren’s disease, vasculitis, and dermatomyositis. With over 25 years of clinical experience, she leads the Monash Lupus Clinic and contributes to specialty autoimmune clinics at Monash Health and Austin Health.
A/Prof Hoi played a pivotal role in establishing the Australian Lupus Registry & Biobank, a key resource supporting national and international research into SLE. As Chief Investigator at the Lupus+ Clinical Research Hub, she led investigator-led research focusing on disease predictors, patient outcomes, quality of care, and several registry-based studies, as well as clinical trials in SLE and Sjogren’s disease. She also serves on the executive committee of the Asia-Pacific Lupus Collaboration, working to improve outcomes for patients worldwide.
