Synopsis
APLAR 2026 Pre-congress Basic Musculoskeletal Ultrasound (MSUS) Workshop is an introductory and basic-level course designed for participants who are new to musculoskeletal ultrasound or wish to consolidate their fundamental skills in a structured manner. The workshop will be held on 28–29 October 2026 at COEX, Seoul.
The programme consists of theoretical lectures covering core concepts of MSUS, hands-on practical training focused on standard scanning protocols across multiple joints, and live demonstrations illustrating the standard scanning approach for the hip joint and salivary glands. Participants will learn essential MSUS principles and image optimization techniques, understand common pathological findings encountered in rheumatology practice, and develop the ability to scan normal anatomical structures using real-time ultrasound.
A multiple-choice question (MCQ) test will be conducted at the end of the workshop to assess key knowledge and conceptual understanding. The workshop aims to help beginners acquire a standardized examination workflow and develop reproducible basic MSUS scanning skills.
