Dr. Wataru Fujii is a distinguished medical professional specializing in rheumatology, respiratory medicine, and internal medicine. He earned his M.D. from Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine in 2005 and later completed a Ph.D. in Medical Science at the same institution in 2015. Dr. Fujii has built a robust academic and research career, beginning as a graduate student in inflammation and immunology at the Graduate School of Medical Science, Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine. From 2016 to 2018, he expanded his research horizons internationally as a research fellow supported by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at the University of Bonn in Germany. He returned to Kyoto to serve as an assistant professor and graduate student in the field of inflammation and immunology from 2019 to 2024. In 2025, he joined Dokkyo Medical University as an assistant professor, where he continues to contribute to medical science through teaching, research, and clinical practice.
