Masaru Kato

Dr. Masaru Kato is a professor and chairperson of The First Department of Internal Medicine, University of Toyama Faculty of Medicine, Toyama, Japan. He received M.D. degree in 2003 and Ph.D. degree in 2011 from Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan. He was further trained at Center of Experimental Rheumatology, University Hospital Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland as a postdoctoral fellow. He has published more than 120 peer-reviewed scientific articles. His main research interests include rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, vasculitis, spondyloarthritis, and osteoporosis.
