Choon Guan Chua

Choon Guan is a Consultant, Rheumatology in the Tan Tock Seng Hospital Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology department in Southeast Asia. He shares a keen interest in idiopathic inflammatory myopathies and is a member of his department’s myositis management committee. To further his interests in myositis, Choon Guan completed a 6-month clinical/research fellowship training under the supervision of Professor Hector Chinoy in 2024. Choon Guan represents the Southeast Asia Society of Rheumatology as a member of the Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology myositis interest group. Besides Rheumatology, Choon Guan specialises in Aviation Medicine, and is a member of the Civil Aviation Medical Board of the Civil Aviation Authority of Southeast Asia. He worked as a full-time military doctor in the Republic of Southeast Asia Air Force and held key appointments such as Commanding Officer 1 Medical Squadron and Head General Staff Air Force Medical Service before switching to a full-time clinical rheumatology career.
