Prof Tore K Kvien

Tore K. Kvien has been Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Oslo since 1997 (emeritus from 2020) and Head of the Department of Rheumatology at Diakonhjemmet Hospital, Oslo from 1994 to 2019. He has currently a part time position as senior researcher. Professor Kvien was the principal investigator of the Norwegian government funded NOR-SWITCH trial, which was published in Lancet 2017. He has published more than 700 original research articles in international peer-reviewed journals, was President of EULAR from 2005 to 2007 and was Editor-in-Chief of Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases from 2008 to 2017.
Professor Kvien was recognized as Master of the American College of Rheumatology in 2015, received the EULAR meritorious service award in 2017, the Carol Nachman medal in 2018, and the Norwegian King in 2019 appointed professor Kvien as Officer First Class of the Royal Order of St Olav.
