Prof Seungwoo Han

Seungwoo Han, M.D., Ph.D., is a professor in the division of rheumatology at Kyungpook National University Hospital. He earned his doctor of medicine (MD), master of medicine, and doctor of philosophy (PhD) from Kyungpook National University School of Medicine. His research primarily focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying catabolic processes in chondrocytes, specifically concerning the degradation of the extracellular matrix in cartilage. He also explores the integration of bioinformatics and the application of gene therapy using lipid nanoparticle technology to address challenges in cartilage-related diseases. His recent publications include studies on oxidative phosphorylation in osteoarthritis and the role of endoplasmic reticulum stress in chondrocyte catabolism.
