Dr. Minhaj Rahim Choudhury, FCPS, DTCD, MD, FACR, is Professor of Rheumatology at Bangladesh Medical University (BMU), Dhaka, Bangladesh. He joined BMU in 2003, following academic appointments at different teaching hospitals in Bangladesh. He was a Clinical and Research Fellow at the Royal Free Hospital, University College London, UK, in 2002, and was elected a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology in 2006.
Prof. Choudhury is President of the Bangladesh Rheumatology Society and serves on the editorial board of Rheumatology and Autoimmunity. He has authored or co-authored approximately 75 scientific publications, including articles in The Lancet, and contributed to 2024 APLAR recommendations for rheumatoid arthritis management.
He has extensive international experience as a speaker and trainer in rheumatology and musculoskeletal ultrasound (MSUS), including APLAR, EULAR, and ACR programs. He established the Sjögren Support Group in Bangladesh and has pioneered APLAR accredited intermediate-level MSUS training in the country.
