Prof Alberta Hoi is a clinician-researcher and expert in systemic autoimmune diseases, with particular interests in systemic lupus erythematosus and Sjgren disease. She is Professor in the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Sciences at Monash University, and a principal investigator in multiple investigator-initiated studies and sponsored clinical trials. She played a key role in establishing the Australian Lupus Registry & Biobank, a major national registry supporting Australian and international research into lupus outcomes and quality of care. Her research focuses on disease predictors, comorbidities, patient-reported outcomes, and patient-centred care in autoimmune disease. Prof Hoi also leads emerging research in Sjogren disease, including systemic manifestations, pain, fatigue, and longitudinal outcomes. She currently chairs the Australian Lupus Registry & Biobank Steering Committee and serves on the executive committee of the Asia-Pacific Lupus Collaboration (APLC).
