JaHyun Kang, PhD, MPH, RN, eCIC, FAPIC, is a Professor and Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Seoul National University College of Nursing. She previously served on the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh and was a 2019-2020 Takemi Fellow in International Health at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
Her research focuses on infection prevention and control in healthcare settings, with an emphasis on healthcare-associated infections, healthcare personnel behavior, and system-level interventions. She integrates simulation, modeling, and cost-effectiveness analysis to develop and evaluate strategies that improve compliance and patient safety.
Dr. Kang has led nationally funded research and innovation projects, including the development of advanced personal protective equipment. Her work has been published in leading journals such as JAMA Network Open and Infection Control & Hospital Epidemiology. She currently serves on the External Affairs Committee of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA).
