Yoon-Kyoung Sung, MD, PhD, MPH, is a Full Professor of Rheumatology at Hanyang University and a physician at Hanyang University Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases (HUHRD) in Seoul, South Korea, where he serves as Director. He received his MD and PhD from Hanyang University School of Medicine and completed internship, residency, and postdoctoral fellowship training in rheumatology and clinical epidemiology at HUHRD. He later earned an MPH from the University of Tokyo while working in the Department of Drug Policy and Management. Dr. Sung joined Hanyang University as an Assistant Professor in 2007 and was promoted to Full Professor in 2017. In 2012, he was a Research Fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. His research focuses on clinical epidemiology and outcomes research in rheumatic diseases, particularly real-world evidence, using prospective cohorts and nationwide health insurance data. He also serves as Director of the Research Committee of the Korean College of Rheumatology.
