Takahisa Gono, M.D., Ph.D., is a Japanese rheumatologist and medical researcher currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Allergy and Rheumatology at the Nippon Medical School Graduate School of Medicine.
Dr. Gono earned his doctorate from Shinshu University. He has built a distinguished career focusing on systemic autoimmune diseases, held previous faculty positions at Tokyo Women’s Medical University and Jichi Medical University.
His primary clinical and research expertise lies in Polymyositis/Dermatomyositis (Myositis) and associated Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). He is the Vice Director of the Scleroderma/Myositis Centre of Excellence at Nippon Medical School Hospital, where he contributes to cutting-edge diagnostics and treatment strategies for Myositis. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed studies aimed at improving prognostic outcomes for patients with Myositis and ILD.
