Dr. Nizam Uddin Ahmed is a highly respected global health leader and public health expert with more than 35 years of experience advancing health systems across Asia and Africa. His expertise spans maternal and child health, immunization, HIV/AIDS, adolescent and reproductive health, nutrition, digital health, and health systems strengthening.
Dr. Ahmed brings a unique perspective to the intersection of clinical medicine and public health, drawing from his active involvement in rheumatology and membership in several professional bodies. His commitment to bridging clinical care with population health strategies has significantly influenced regional approaches to non-communicable diseases, including rheumatic and musculoskeletal disorders.
He currently serves as Chair of the Gavi Civil Society Steering Committee, Member of WHO’s Strategic Technical Advisory Group of Experts (STAGE), and Adjunct Faculty Member at both Johns Hopkins University and North South University. His leadership has contributed to global policy dialogue and country-level innovations in immunization and integrated Primary Health Care service.
