Dr. Nizam Uddin Ahmed is a renowned public health expert with over 30 years of experience in program design, management, and policy development. His expertise spans maternal and child health, immunization, HIV/AIDS, adolescent sexual and reproductive health, nutrition, and health system strengthening. Dr. Ahmed has successfully partnered with governments, UN agencies, civil society, and international organizations and professional bodies to implement impactful health programs across South Asia, Central Asia, and Africa.
An active member of professional bodies in public health and rheumatology, he bridges clinical services with population health strategies. He has published extensively in international journals, contributing research on immunization, non-communicable diseases, cancer, telehealth services, COVID-19, and health systems strengthening.
A senior leader, Dr. Ahmed has held key roles, including Chair of Gavi’s Civil Society Steering Committee, and serves as an adjunct faculty member at Johns Hopkins University and North South University.
