Mitsumasa Kishimoto currently serves as an associate professor at Kyorin University School of Medicine.
After completing the first training in Japan, he completed an Internal Medicine Residency program at the University of Hawaii, and a Rheumatology Fellowship program at New York University. In 2006 he took the role of Program Director of the Department of Rheumatology at the Kameda Medical Center, then from 2009 to 2019, clinical program director in St Lukes International hospital before moving on to accept his current positions in 2019.
Dr Kishimoto was certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and received an ACR Distinguished Fellow Award in 2006.
He was a Steering committee member in the ‘APLAR guidelines for management of rheumatoid arthritis and axial spondyloarthritis and is currently SIG member in Spondyloarthritis. He also serves as a Steering committee member in JCR guidelines for management of RA, PsA, and SpA.
He is a GRAPPA and ASAS member, and Japan’s Principal Investigators for the ‘ASAS-Comospa, perSpA’ studies, and SAGE PsA study.
Dr Kishimoto is an author of over 150 scientific publications including NEJM and Lancet articles.
