Workshop for GCA, PMR, and TAK: Giant Cell Arteritis, Polymyalgia Rheumatica, and Takayasu Arteritis: A Unified Spectrum of Large–Vessel Vasculitis

APLAR 2024 Workshop

Synopsis:

In this workshop, the participants will gain an understanding of large-vessel vasculitis including the real-world data, the new disease concept of GCA-PMR spectrum, and imaging implications.

Hands-on (part III):
Participants will learn the basic scanning techniques and anatomical landmarks for vascular ultrasound (including TAK and GCA) and musculoskeletal ultrasound for PMR, with a focus on the point-of-care rheumatology ultrasound (POCRUS) approach in this hands-on session.

This session will involve healthy volunteers as models. There will be six stations in total, with approximately four participants assigned to each station per session. Each station will be supervised by a dedicated instructor to provide hands-on guidance and feedback.

We recommend that participants have some basic experience with ultrasound—such as using it for musculoskeletal diseases—and know how to handle the machine.

Time:
Lecture only (Part I and Part II):
