Yeon-Ah Lee joined the faculty of Kyung Hee University in 2010 and was promoted to Professor of Rheumatology in 2019. She received her M.D. degree from Kyung Hee University Medical School in 1999, and completed her residency in internal medicine and fellowship in rheumatology at Kyung Hee University Hospital. In 2014, she spent a year as a visiting scholar in the Utz Laboratory at Stanford University.

Her clinical and research expertise covers rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthritis, and connective tissue disease–associated interstitial lung disease (CTD-ILD). She is actively engaged in academic activities, serving as a member of the Academic Affairs Committee of the Korean College of Rheumatology (KCR) and as an associate editor for the Korean Journal of Internal Medicine (KJIM). She is also an executive member of the Spondyloarthritis Research Society, contributing to studies on the microbiome in spondyloarthritis. Her current research focuses on basic science studies of RA-associated interstitial lung disease (RA-ILD) and the development of saliva-based diagnostic methods for rheumatic diseases.
