Dr. Takako Miyamae holds the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatric Rheumatology at the Institute of Rheumatology in Tokyo, Japan. Since 2021, she has served as the President of the Pediatric Rheumatology Association of Japan. Her areas of expertise include pediatric rheumatic diseases and autoinflammatory diseases. Notably, she is currently the principal investigator for a Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare (MHLW) research group, which aims to address the unmet needs in rare and intractable rheumatic and autoimmune diseases, thereby improving the understanding of the true medical landscape of pediatric rheumatic diseases in Japan. Furthermore, she is contributing to research to elucidate the immunogenetic characteristics of pediatric systemic lupus erythematosus, with specific reference to adult peripheral blood single-cell data utilizing AI, research on telemedicine, and the development of guidelines for the treatment of juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
