Dr. Shigno Nakayamada earned both his M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Occupational and Environmental Health (UOEH), Japan. He began his career as an Assistant Professor in the First Department of Internal Medicine, UOEH. He has also served as an Occupational Health Physician at Kobe Shipyard & Machinery Works, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and as a part-time researcher at Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine. Furthering his research, he was a Visiting Fellow at the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, National Institutes of Health, U.S.A. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the First Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Occupational and Environmental Health, Japan. His work focuses on clinical immunology, particularly investigating abnormalities in lymphocyte differentiation and disease mechanisms through immuno-phenotyping in autoimmune diseases.
