Masaki Shimizu

Prof. Masaki Shimizu is Professor of Department of Pediatrics, Neonatal and Maternal Medicine, Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences, Institute of Science Tokyo. He is a vice president and chairman of Pediatric Rheumatology Association of Japan. He is also a member of the International Committee of Japan College of Rheumatology. Prof. Shimizu received his MD and training in Department of Pediatrics, Kanazawa University, Kanazawa, Japan. In 2005, Dr Shimizu completed his PhD in Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kanazawa University, Kanazawa, Japan. In 2012, Dr. Shimizu received the training of Pediatric Rheumatology in Department of Pediatric Rheumatology, Genoa University, Genoa, Italy. His research has focused on the pathogenesis of Pediatric Rheumatic Diseases, in particular, systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis and macrophage activation syndrome.
