Maria Tektonidou is Professor of Rheumatology, Head of Rheumatology Unit, and Head of the National Center of Expertise for Rare and Complex Connective Tissue and Musculoskeletal Diseases at the First Department of Propaedeutic Internal Medicine, University of Athens, Greece. She is Executive board member of the Joint Academic Rheumatology program, University of Athens, “EULAR Centre of Excellence” (2021-2026). Dr Tektonidou is leading the “EULAR Antiphospholipid syndrome study group” (2019-present) and she is disease coordinator of the ERN ReCoNNET APS group (2022-present. She chaired the “EULAR Recommendations for the management of APS in adults” (2019), the “EULAR recommendations for the cardiovascular management of RMDs including SLE and APS” (2022), and she is chairing the “Development and Validation of a EULAR disease activity score in APS” project. She was a steering committee member of the “2023 ACR/EULAR Classification Criteria for APS”, a member of the “EULAR/ACR classification criteria for SLE” and the “2023 EULAR recommendations for SLE management”. She is a steering committee member (previous executive committee (2014-2021) member) of the ‘AntiPhospholipid Syndrome Alliance for Clinical Trials and InternatiOnal Networking (APS ACTION), and she was executive committee member of the “European Lupus Society-SLEuro” (2018-2022).
