Hideki Nakamoto, M.D., Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Tokyo Hospital. He received his M.D. from the University of Tokyo in 2008 and earned his Ph.D. in 2020 for his basic science research on the maintenance of cartilage homeostasis under mechanical stress. Dr. Nakamoto specializes in spine surgery with a focus on minimally invasive techniques (MIS), surgical site infection prevention, and the development of multicenter databases for spine surgery outcomes. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and received awards including the Best Paper Award from the Japanese Society for Spine Surgery and Related Research in 2020. He is a member of several academic societies such as the Japanese Orthopaedic Association and the Japanese Society for Spine Surgery. Dr. Nakamoto is currently engaged in clinical practice and collaborative clinical research to advance spine surgery and improve patient outcomes.
