APLAR 2022 will be showcasing, over five days, interactive workshops, and presentations from invited speakers to propagate and consolidate rheumatology endeavours in the Asia Pacific region.
Location: Hong Kong Convention Centre
Pre-congress: Monday 5 – Tuesday 6 December 2022 – 0800-1700
Core congress: Wednesday 7 – Friday 9 December 2022 – 0730-1900
Volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the success of APLAR 2022 by providing support behind the scenes in a range of responsibilities.
Being a volunteer is an excellent opportunity to meet, interact and network with leading professionals, researchers, and practitioners in the emergency medical field. How to Sign up
To volunteer, please complete a volunteer application form and outline what days you are available to take part in the congress, with your preferred volunteer role by the 31 October 2022.
Please note it will not be possible to align all volunteer role preferences, but these will be taken into consideration.

Volunteer Needs and Expectations
We are seeking volunteers to undertake the specific roles outlined below. You will be expected to attend daily volunteer briefings at the beginning of your shift before heading out to your rostered area. Volunteers at any conference are an important aspect of the smooth running of the event, so we request you to consider your commitment prior to volunteering.
You will be assisting in the workshops as a model patient, you may be required to act as a patient during the workshop and agree to taking part in MRI scans, and live demonstrations.
Session room monitors
Before the session starts, you will need to assist the session chair with water bottles, notes, briefing, seating, and presentation needs. You will assist the in-house staff and report to them the number of attendee’s and monitor the session for a smoother operation.
Monitoring the poster tours and electronic poster stations during the event and ensuring the correct posters are visible at the appropriate times.
Self-check in and queue monitoring/registration
You will assist pre-registered delegates check-in using the self-print terminals and assist attendees access the virtual platform. You will support in queue management.
You will assist in ensuring all attendees are checked in and have the correct vaccination status in line with the Government requirements at the time of the congress
