Motomu Hashimoto

Motomu Hashimoto is a Professor of Clinical Immunology at Osaka Metropolitan University. He leads Japan’s largest rheumatoid arthritis (RA) registry, the ANSWER cohort, which provides real-world evidence on the differential efficacy of anti-rheumatic drugs in clinical practice. His research spans basic and translational studies, including the development of unique animal models for RA, spondyloarthritis (SpA), and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). As an active leader in rheumatology, he serves as a Director of the Japan College of Rheumatology (JCR) and chairs J-STAR (Japanese Scientists to Advance Rheumatology), a JCR subcommittee dedicated to fostering research among young rheumatologists.
