Jonathan Kay, MD, is a Professor of Medicine and Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at UMass Chan Medical School, where he holds the Timothy S. and Elaine L. Peterson Chair in Rheumatology. He directs clinical research in the Division of Rheumatology and co-directs the MD/PhD Program. Dr. Kay received his medical degree from the University of California San Francisco, completed his residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and fellowships in rheumatology and immunology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
A Fellow of the American College of Physicians and a Master of the American College of Rheumatology, Dr. Kay received the Distinguished Service Award from the American College of Rheumatology and honorary membership in EULAR. His research focuses on inflammatory arthritis, including rheumatoid arthritis and spondyloarthropathies, and on development of biosimilars to treat rheumatic diseases. He has authored more than 220 publications and book chapters.
