Prof. Shintaro Hirata graduated from Medical School at Hiroshima University and acquired M.D. degree in 1998. Then, he acquired the JCR board-certified rheumatologist in 2005, Ph.D. degree in 2009, and the JCR board-certified rheumatologist instructor in 2011. Since November 2021 he has become Professor and chairman of the Department of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology, Hiroshima University Hospital. His research interest includes predictive/assessment biomarkers and therapeutic strategies for rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, and glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis. He is the member of various Japanese CPGs including RA, SLE, MCTD and GIOP.
