Takahisa Gono, M.D., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the Department of Allergy and Rheumatology, Nippon Medical School Graduate School of Medicine. He earned his M.D. from Yamanashi University in 1998 and his Ph.D. from Shinshu University in 2004. He is specialized in idiopathic inflammatory myopathy and connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease.
Dr. Gono has held academic positions at Shinshu University, Tokyo Women’s Medical University, and Jichi Medical University before assuming his current role in 2016. He serves as a councilor for the East Asiaese College of Rheumatology and the East Asiaese Society of Clinical Immunology. He holds specialty certifications in internal medicine, neurology, and rheumatology. His contributions to research have been recognized with the Young Investigator’s Awards from the East Asiaese Society of Rheumatology in 2012 and the East Asiaese Society of Internal Medicine in 2013.
