Mustafa Al Izzi

Professor Dr. Mustafa Al Izzi, is a distinguished Iraqi rheumatologist who has been living and working in the United Arab Emirates for the last 22 years and his current position as the Chief Rheumatologist at Mediclinic Welcare, Parkview, and Dubai Mall in Dubai, UAE, since October 2011. He earned his MBChB from the University of Baghdad in 1974, MRCP (UK) in 1982, and FRCP (Edinburgh) in 2000.
Professor Al Izzi has held key roles, including Chief of Rheumatology at Zayed Military Hospital (2008-2011) and Mafraq Hospital (2003-2008) in Abu Dhabi. He also served as a Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Baghdad (1989-2002) and led the UAE Rheumatologists Club (2004-2008).
He co-founded the Emirates Osteoporosis Society in 2006 and served as its president. With over 24 publications, he is an active speaker at national and international conferences. In 2024, he formulated the official osteoporosis guidelines for the Dubai Health Authority and was awarded as the Rheumatologist of the Year in 2023.
