Currently Professor and Head, Department of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology, Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar. Formerly he served as Professor and Head of the Department of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences for 30 years and was pivotal in setting up the super speciality training program at Lucknow, India which trained a generation of trained specialists. He is clinician researcher with interests in SLE, Takayasu arteritis and Reactive arthritis. He was bestowed upon the APLAR Master award in 2021 and Fellow of the Indian Medical Association and elected Fellow of the Royal College of Physician, London. He was the past president of the Indian Rheumatology Association and received the MN Passey Award for Life time achievement in the filed of rheumatology in India. He has to his credit 225 publications.
