Prof. Naoto Tamura graduated from Juntendo University School of Medicine in Tokyo in 1987. After training in internal medicine as a resident, he entering the Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, Juntendo University School of Medicine in 1990. From 1994 to 1997, he studied at Department of Rheumatology, UCLA as a research fellow. After returning to Japan, he worked at the Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, Juntendo University School of Medicine, and has been a professor since 2017. He is a board member of the Japanese College of Rheumatology and a leader of the Japan Research Committee of the Ministry of Health, Labour, and Welfare for Intractable Vasculitis (JPVAS).
