Prof. Fai Ng

Professor Ng, Professor of Rheumatology at Newcastle University and Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist at Freeman Hospital, is an international leader in Sjögren’s syndrome and fatigue research. He is the Director of the NIHR Newcastle Clinical Research Facility.

Ng established the UK primary Sjögren’s syndrome registry (UKPSSR) with over 1000 patients. The UKPSSR has to date supported many national and international research projects peer-reviewed publications, and leveraged an additional £50M in grant awards.

Professor Ng leads several large international and national research consortia including a €42 million EU IMI consortium – IDEA-FAST (www.idea-fast.eu).

He completed his medical degrees at Cambridge University and a doctoral degree at Imperial College London. He is a Michael Mason Prize winner of the British Society for Rheumatology.
