Dr. Mosca is Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Pisa and Head of the Rheumatology Unit at the Azienda Ospedaliera Universitaria Pisana, Italy. She is also head of the Fellowship Training Program in Rheumatology at the University of Pisa and member of the faculty of the Ph.D. Program in Genetics, Oncology and Clinical Medicine of the Consortium among the Universities of Pisa, Florence and Siena. She has participated to the development of European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) recommendations in a number of different areas and she has coordinated the Development of recommendations for monitoring systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients in clinical practice and in observational studies. She was also a member of the EULAR/American College of Rheumatology steering committee for the development of Classification Criteria for SLE and she is a member of the SLICC group. Dr. Mosca is a member of the scientific advisory board of LUPUS EUROPE, the European Association of SLE patients. Since December 2016, she has been the coordinator of the European Reference Network on “Rare and Hereditary Connective and Musculoskeletal Diseases” (RECONNET) supported by the European Commission.
Dr Mosca has served as Abstract Chair of the 2022 EULAR congress and Scientific Chair for the 2023 EULAR Congress. She has authored over 300 ISI publications on SLE and other connective tissue diseases. Her clinical activity covers systemic lupus erythematosus, pregnancy in RMDs, as well as other rare and complex connective tissue diseases and rheumatic diseases.
