Dr Thorlene Egerton is a senior lecturer with the Physiotherapy Department, and a senior research fellow with the Centre for Health, Exercise & Sports Medicine. Her current research interests are in bridging the evidence-practice gap in osteoarthritis management. She is particularly interested in novel models of care and education strategies to support effective self-management and behaviour change.
Thorlene coordinates the post-graduate masters of Clinical Rehabilitation. She teaches Health Behaviour Change, Evaluation of Rehabilitation Practice and Physical Activity & Exercise subjects as well as supervising the master students’ Research Project subject.
She has published 53 articles in peer-reviewed journals and produced a short patient education video explaining knee osteoarthritis with a novel empowerment discourse
