Dr. Inoshi Atukorala is a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Colombo, and is the Honorary Consultant Rheumatologist at the University Medical Unit, National Hospital Sri Lanka. Inoshi graduated in 1999 at the top of her batch with First Class (Honours), 19 medals, and prizes. She received the Best Student award from the Faculty of Medicine and the Student of the Year award for excellence in academic studies and sportsmanship from the University of Colombo.
Inoshi completed her MD (Clinical Medicine) in 2005 and received the John Stokes Gold medal for best performance at the exam. Her specialist training was at the Nuffield Department of Rheumatology/Musculoskeletal Sciences, Oxford, and the National Hospital Sri Lanka, while her research training was at the Institute of Bone and Joint Research, University of Sydney. Inoshi obtained her Ph.D. in 2021.
She received multiple awards for research, including the Presidential Award for Research in Sri Lanka. Her research interests include osteoarthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. Inoshi has published extensively in high-impact factor indexed journals, including the highest impact factor journal for research in rheumatology, the Annals of Rheumatic Diseases. She has authored book chapters in several textbooks, including Mansons Tropical Diseases and Oxford Textbook of Orthopaedics.
